Automated Tire Warehouse for Turkish Technic

Turkish Technic has commissioned an automated tire warehouse at Istanbul Airport. The 1,600-square-meter facility, supplied by LOG-X Systems, can store 3,770 tires. According to Mikail Akbulut, CEO of Turkish Technic, automation has reduced the time needed to supply the workshops from 30 minutes to 6 minutes.

The system automates the process from storing tires to delivering them to the workshops. The CEO highlighted the autonomous robots and advanced technologies built into the system, which enable it to handle up to 120 tires per hour. In addition to faster service, the company reported improvements in workforce efficiency and operational traceability.

The system installed as part of the project managed by Mopcons Consulting was handed over as Turkish Technic continues to expand its capacity. In August, Herdem Aviation reported that the company had opened a new hangar capable of servicing two narrow-body and one wide-body aircraft at the same time. A training center was also established as part of the investment.

The aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector operates within one of the world’s most strictly regulated supply chains, where logistics depend on flexibility, speed and near-zero tolerance for error. One of the sector’s greatest challenges is the AOG factor (Aircraft on Ground): every minute an aircraft remains grounded because of a technical fault can generate substantial losses. Intralogistics systems must therefore identify critical parts—from tiny components to heavy assemblies requiring special handling, such as tires—and deliver them to technicians within seconds.

Full traceability is essential for aviation safety. Every component must have a documented service history, while software must rigorously monitor expiry dates. In this tightly audited environment, automated Industry 4.0 warehouse solutions are key to improving efficiency.

LOG-X Systems develops and supplies automated warehouse systems, conveyor systems, AGVs and warehouse management solutions. For similar projects, the company can support the process from site surveys and planning through simulation, project management, installation and integration with existing systems, and into operational support. Its automation solutions can enable higher storage density, optimized material flow, fewer unnecessary movements and faster warehouse processes.

LOG-X Systems can support the entire project lifecycle: from site surveys and requirements analysis to a tailored concept, layout and material-flow planning, 2D/3D design and simulations based on real data. Where required, solutions can also be integrated with existing ERP and WMS systems.
